RICHMOND, Ky. – Campbellsville defeated Rio Grande and Truett McConnell earlier this week in match play. Quentin Boczmak led the Tigers with two wins during his three matches.

The Tigers faced Rio Grande in their first round, winning the match 3-2. Boczmak, Carson Beckham, and Jagger McBride each earned victorious results.

Quentin started off fast, going up four in his first five holes. He lost one over the next five holes to still be ahead by three. Boczmak locked down the next two to go up five and never looked back.

Beckham trailed through the first seven holes. He then rallied off five straight hole wins to give him heavy momentum. Rio Grande would cut the lead to one shot with two holes to go, but Beckham stood strong to secure the match.

McBride started behind his match as well. He garnered a six-shot lead from holes five to 12 and would hold that advantage to end the match early.

The Tigers lost their middle match to Cumberland University 4.5-0.5. The half-point came from McBride trying a match. CU bounced back with a three-to-two win over the bears of TMU. Boczmak, Manu Garcia, and Stephen Perry earned the three Tiger wins.

Boczmak won the first hole of his match and never looked back. He would end the match up three holes. Garcia trailed early before putting on a clinic. Manu also ended his match quickly, being up five holes. Perry played from behind through the first four holes. This match fluctuated frequently, with Stephen walking away up one hole.

Campbellsville will be back in action at the Mid-South Conference Fall Preview in Bowling Green, Kentucky, on October 27th.
