CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.- The #4 Lady Tigers hosted the University of Northwestern Ohio Racers for the NAIA Tournament Opening Round. With a tie-breaking penalty kick in the last five minutes of the game, Campbellsville took the win over Northwestern Ohio, 2-1.
The Racers were first on the scoreboard with the first goal of the night less than ten minutes into the game. Lina Berrah, Paula Sanabria, and Marta Prieto each collected shots for the Lady Tigers, unable to make it on the scoreboard. Merel Houweling retaliated with Campbellsville's first goal, tying the score. At the end of the first 45 minutes of play, the scoreboard remained tied, 1-1.
As the second half unfolded, both teams struggled to grasp the lead, unable to break the tie. The physicality of the contest picked up as both teams elevated their intensity in efforts to score. With only five minutes left in the game, the Lady Tigers took the lead with a successful penalty kick by Sanabria. Campbellsville took the victory over Northwestern Ohio, 2-1.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action, moving on to the NAIA Championship in Pensacola, Florida, from December 2nd through December 7th.

- Campbellsville surpassed Northwestern Ohio in a few statistical categories of the game: shots (15-5), shots on goal (7-3), and corners (5-4).
- Berrah led the Lady Tigers with five shots and two shots on goals, followed by Sanabria and Houweling with three shots and one shot on goal each. Milly Shakespeare collected two saves throughout tonight's match.
- This year marks Campbellsville's fifth-ever participation in the NAIA National Tournament (2022, 2021, 2019, 2015). The last time the Lady Tigers made it past the opening round and into the round of 16 was during the 2015 season.
- Tonight's match was Campbellsville's first game against Northwestern Ohio.
