COLUMBIA, Ky.- The #9 Lady Tigers took the road on Monday night to battle the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders for their last regular season match-up. With nearly double the shots throughout the match, Campbellsville took the victory, 3-2.
Marta Prieto made the Lady Tigers first on the scoreboard with a goal assisted by Lina Berrah. Shortly after, with a corner kick, Merel Houweling scored Campbellsville's second goal. In the closing of the first half, the Blue Raiders attempted to score. However, Milly Shakespeare avidly saved the ball, keeping the Lady Tigers in the lead at the half, 2-0.
Two minutes into the second half, Lindsey Wilson scored their first goal of the contest. However, shortly after, Prieto retaliated with Campbellsville's third goal, counteracting the Blue Raiders' efforts to catch up with the lead. With three minutes left on the clock, Lindsey Wilson scored their second goal of the night. At the end of the game, the Lady Tigers took the victory, 3-2.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action, hosting the Mid-South Conference Tournament on Friday, November 8th.
