CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville Tigers, number two seed, faced off against the Freed-Hardeman Lions, number seven seed, for a spot in the Mid-South Conference Tournament semifinals. The Tigers secured an 11-0 victory over the Lions, advancing to the semifinals.
The Lady Tigers came on the field to dominate the first half, setting the tone with nonstop pressure on Freed-Hardeman. Lina Berrah struck first in the 11th minute, putting Campbellsville up 1-0 with an assist from Paula Sanabria. Sarah Liljeborg doubled the score a minute later, making it 2-0. The Tigers kept taking control over the field, with Marta Prieto adding two goals back-to-back in the 27th minute, stretching the lead to 4-0. Momo Chogyoji then found the back of the net in the 31st minute, and Sayu Morisawa capped it off with a sixth goal in the 36th minute, assisted by Ellie Ball. By halftime, the Tigers were firmly in control at 6-0, dominating the game on both ends of the field.
In a dominant second half, Campbellsville continued to pile on the goals against Freed-Hardeman, starting with Laura Munoz netting one in the 47th minute off an assist from Chogyoji, pushing the lead to 7-0. Alex Glennie scored twice, first in the 71st minute, assisted by Morisawa, then again in the 75th minute with help from Ball, bringing the score to 9-0. Magnolia Russell followed with a goal in the 88th minute, also assisted by Ball. Molly Metcalfe scored in the minute 89th and sealed a decisive 11-0 victory for Campbellsville.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action in the Semifinals of the Mid-South Conference Tournament in Williamsburg, Kentucky. They will face off against the number three seed Cumberland University Phoenix. The match is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. ET on Monday, November 11th.
