CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY – The Tigers split the team into three squads over the weekend across three states.
At Kennesaw State,
Elijah Moore led the way with a 4th place finish in the 100m running a time of 11.08.
Zachary Phelps hit two events while at the meet over the weekend. In the 200m, he placed 22nd in 22.88 and improved upon his placement in the 400m, running a time of 50.03.
Darionta Bell joined Phelps in the 400m, placing 25th in 51.02.
Raylon Wilson was the lone field event athlete for the Tigers at Kennesaw State. He placed 11th in the high jump at 1.83m and placed 12th in the long jump, hitting a mark of 6.51m.
Three athletes hit early outdoor season marks and times at the Lee University Invitational.
Isaac Kiprop placed 9th in the 10,000m run in 32:24.12.
Jackson Hollinsworth was only .02m off, tying the school record in the event with a height of 3.48m.
Jonah Oliver tripled up on events at the meet. His best finish came from the discus throw, where he threw for a mark of 41.82m. In the hammer throw, he made a top-ten finish with a mark at 42.09m and finished off with an 11th place finish in the shot put in 12.09m.
Finally, Campbellsville added the Pioneer Invitational to the schedule for most of the distance athletes. In the 800m run, Campbellsville had three athletes finish in a row from 8-10.
Myles Smithson led the way in 8th at 2:03.76,
Lukas Smithson was 9th in 2:04.22, and
Kannon Cundiff finished 10th at 2:04.23. Lukas led the way in the 1500m with a bronze medal finish of 4:08.23. Myles was close behind in 4th at 4:11.61.
Alexander Steen earned two points, placing 7th overall in 4:14.21.
In the 5,000m run,
Aaron Smith and
Samuel Bennett finished in scoring position. Smith finished in 8th overall and 7th in team standings with a time at 16:13.10, while Bennett was 9th overall and 8th in team standings in 16:16.50. Campbellsville rounded out the meet with a 5th place in the 4x400m relay. Myles, Lukas,
Max Weston, and Steen were able to run a time of 3:43.36.
Campbellsville will return to the track at the Jim Vargo Invitational on April 5th and 6th in Louisville, KY.
