ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The Lady Tigers battled the Missouri Baptist University Spartans on Saturday for their second game in Missouri, and second game in their four-game road trip. Despite going behind initially, Campbellsville controlled the pace there on out, taking the lead back by halftime. Momo Chogyoji grabbed the momentum to her in the second half, pulling off her first collegiate hat trick. Campbellsville came away with the big victory, 5-1.
The Spartans scored the first goal of the game less than two minutes into the match. Halfway through the first half, Amelie Matheis retaliated, putting the Lady Tigers on the scoreboard, aided by Lina Berrah. Marta Prieto followed with another goal for Campbellsville, stealing the lead. With only 20 seconds left of the clock, Momo Chogyoji scored the Lady Tigers' third goal of the game, closing the half holding the advantage over the Spartans, 3-1.
Chogyoji opened the second half with another goal for Campbellsville assisted by Sarah Liljeborg. Missouri Baptist attempted shot after shot, unsuccessful in their pursuit of the lead. Chogyoji's hot streak only got hotter, scoring her third goal of the match at the 73' minute mark.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action Saturday, September 7th, traveling to Upland, Indiana to battle the Taylor University Trojans beginning 1 p.m. ET.
