KOKOMO, Ind. - The Tigers took on the Indiana University East Red Wolves and the Indiana University Kokomo Cougars during their second day in Indiana. After an astonishing win against the Red Wolves, the Tigers faced a tough setback against the Cougars, closing the day with a victory and a defeat under their belt.
GAME ONE: Campbellsville 3, IU East 1
The Red Wolves began the first set on the lead, benefitting from Campbellsville's errors in the opening minutes of the frame. However, the Tigers racked up avid kills to propel them forward, stealing the lead and winning the first set, 25-23.
Campbellsville's momentum strengthened going into the second set, and they never lost their hold on the advantage. Despite IU East's attempts to retaliate, the Tigers took the second set, 25-20.
The Red Wolves claimed the upper hand from the early stages of the set. Campbellsville's attack errors amplified their detriment on the scoreboard. The Tigers could not catch up with IU East's dominance, losing the frame 25-22.
Campbellsville came into the third set eager to bounce back from their defeat and take the game from the Red Wolves. Molly Shannon and Brooke Hager collected kill after kill throughout the frame. The Tigers clawed to victory, taking the set from the Red Wolves, 25-19.
GAME TWO: Campbellsville 1, IU Kokomo 3
Both teams remained close at the start of the first set. However, IU Kokomo's heated kills widened the gap on the scoreboard, taking the first set from the Tigers, 25-20.
From the early stages of the second set, Campbellsville took control of the game, keeping the Cougars behind with a nine-point deficit on the scoreboard. Shannon and Erica Calderon's kills closed the set with a win for the Tigers, 25-16.
IU Kokomo did not falter at the sight of defeat, rallying up their efforts to stay ahead of Campbellsville in the third set. The Tigers fell back on the scoreboard, losing the third set, 25-14.
Much like the third set, the Cougars dominated the court with their kills. Despite the Tigers' efforts to bounce back, they struggled to decrease their ten-point shortfall. Campbellsville lost the final set, 25-15.
The Tigers will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, September 14th, on their last day in the Hoosier State, battling the Saint Xavier University Cougars beginning at 10 a.m. ET.

- Cierra Merrick led the Tigers during both games with 15 kills in the first game and 13 kills in the second game, followed by Hager with 12 and 11 kills, respectively.
