CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – On Saturday, the Tigers sought their first 4-0 start since 2017, hosting their home opener against the Bluefield Rams. Campbellsville secured the 69-37 victory behind Jagger Gillis' efficient passing and the defense's scoring opportunities off turnovers.
Campbellsville lost the coin toss, but Bluefield deferred, granting the Tigers first possession. On just the second play from scrimmage, a recovered fumble returned for a touchdown put the Rams on the board. Afterward, Campbellsville punted deep into the Rams' territory for Bluefield's first crack at offense. On third down, Josiah Harris brought in an interception. Starting at Bluefield's 18-yard line, Jagger Gillis found tight end Jack Busey for the equalizing score. The Rams managed a couple of big plays, including a 22-yard rush and a 45-yard pass, to get them in position to add a field goal to their total, 10-7. The next offensive drive for Campbellsville saw some trickery as Gillis lateraled to Patrick Oden, and the wideout threw a bomb to Andre Siler for the 65-yard touchdown.
The offense completed five straight passes in the second quarter before a defensive pass interference call brought them within five yards. A Charles Collins rushing touchdown put the Tigers up 21-10. Following a Bluefield punt, Justyce Law entered and commanded the offense. Facing third-and-15 at midfield, Law found Auker for 48 yards, and then Bass busted through the goal line in the next play to give Campbellsville an 18-point advantage. Having only 1:54 to score, the Rams did just that, cutting the lead to 28-17 at the half with a 20-yard touchdown.
After halftime, the Tigers held the Rams to a three-and-out in their debut drive. After a muffed punt, Bass took Campbellsville to the end zone with back-to-back rushes, the latter of which was 30 yards. Up 35-17, the Tiger defense kept the Rams to just one set of downs again. Campbellsville found a single first down on their next chance at offense before they punted. Starting at their 30-yard line, Bluefield marched down the field for nearly ten minutes and cut the lead to 35-24, capped off with a ten-yard run. Caden Thieman rattled off a 37-yard kickoff return to put the offense in a great position, which they capitalized on just four plays later when Gillis connected with Luke Sheperson for another airborne score, 42-24. Following another defensive shutdown, the Tigers were again put in the red zone after a big Bass rush. Gillis went to the air to Sheperson again to make the contest 49-24.
Law took over for the Campbellsville offense as the clock turned into the fourth quarter. The offense stalled after a 26-yard passing gain to Oden, and the 41-yard field goal attempt was no good. The Rams were forced into a fumble by Obie Wilson, who juked his way 49 yards to paydirt. Following Bluefield's lengthy drive and touchdown, Law was intercepted and gifted the Rams excellent field position inside Campbellsville's 20. Bluefield capitalized for six points but could not convert the two-point try. Up 55-37, the Tigers wasted the clock and pushed down the field. Collins broke through the goal line to get Campellsville's score past 60. The Rams tried to retaliate. However, Jerrod Johnson took home a pick-six. When the final horn sounded, the Tigers earned the 69-37 win, moving to 4-0 on the year.

- Gillis completed all 18 of his throws for 204 yards and three touchdowns. Siler had 91 of his 104 receiving yards at the half for the team-high.
- Ellis Reed paced the Tigers with his seven tackles while Keeland Lemar had two sacks.
- The Tigers and the Rams were close in total yardage, 444 to 387 respectively. The difference stemmed from Campbellsville's third-down conversion rate (five of ten) compared to Bluefield's (four of 15) as well as the defensive touchdowns by Wilson and Johnson.
- Campbellsville's 69 points are the most since Head Coach Jake Russell has taken over the Fighting Tiger Football program. The 32-point win is the largest for the program since their 60-14 season-opener over St. Andrews in 2022.
