  • Five Lady Tigers finished the game in double-figure scoring: Whitney Hay (19), Abby Gilbert (14), Lainey Johnson (13), Talynne Shearer (12), and Dea Bradley (11).
  • Hay led Campbellsville with eight field goals on a hyper-efficient 8-for-9 shooting, while Bradley paced the team with three three-pointers.
  • The first-year class made an immediate impact, with Abby Gilbert and Katy Smiley tying for the team lead with eight rebounds apiece, and Lainey Johnson grabbing a game-high five steals.
  • Campbellsville dominated the stat sheet, leading in points off turnovers (44-8), bench points (58-27), fastbreak points (33-2), and assists (27-7).
  • Tuesday's victory marks Campbellsville's 18th consecutive win against Union; their last loss to the Bulldogs came in the 1998 season.
  • The Lady Tigers will be back in action, traveling to McKenzie, Tennessee, to battle the Indiana Wesleyan University Wildcats on Friday, October 31st, beginning at 7 p.m. ET.

Senior Paige Serafini opened the game and set the tone, asserting Campbellsville's dominance with a three-point bucket just 18 seconds into the contest. From there, fellow senior Whitney Hay took over with unrelenting efficiency, scoring eight of her game-high 19 points in the first quarter.

The highly-touted freshman class wasted no time making its mark. Abby Gilbert and Katy Smiley made their collegiate basketball debuts with a series of layups, with Gilbert's first basket coming off an assist from sophomore Ella House. The Lady Tigers' defense was stifling, holding Union to just 18.8% shooting in the opening frame, which allowed them to take a 23-point lead, 30-7, at the end of the first quarter.

The momentum continued as Dea Bradley's shots from beyond the arc strengthened the Lady Tigers' lead. The defense locked down the Bulldogs, holding them scoreless for the first 3:45 of the second quarter. Union did not score its first field goal of the period until the 6:15 mark, breaking a scoring drought of over six minutes of game time.

Freshman Lainey Johnson showcased her two-way potential, striking with agile steals and converting on the other end. After a steal and a fastbreak layup, Johnson drained her first career three-point bucket at the 4:49 mark. The Lady Tigers' defense continued to force turnovers as the contest unfolded, preventing the Bulldogs from clawing their way back. At the half, Campbellsville held a 42-point lead, 56-14.

In the opening minutes of the second half, Talynne Shearer, who finished a perfect 5-for-5 from the field, reached double digits with a layup. The lead ballooned to 50 points, 66-16, with 7:04 left in the third. Union's 35 turnovers proved to be their weakness, as Campbellsville consistently capitalized on the miscues. Going into the final quarter, the Lady Tigers led 82-23.

Tyra Flowers continued Campbellsville's control on the boards. At the same time, Gilbert's layups and free throws officially brought the Lady Tigers to triple digits, with her free throw making it 100-26 with 6:05 to play. In the final minutes, freshman Saylor Hutcheson scored her first career jumper, and Jordan Collom tacked on points from the charity stripe to seal the 75-point victory, 112-37.
