The Tigers of Campbellsville rolled through Bethel University in four sets Thursday night to secure their first conference road win of the season.
In the opening set, Bethel struck first, but a quick kill from Brooke Hager swung momentum back to Campbellsville. Behind Kati Vest's fast-paced offense and a service ace of her own helped the Tigers build a 14-9 run that forced a Bethel timeout. The set concluded with an attack error by the Wildcats, resulting in a 25–18 win.
The Wildcats came out strong in the second, showing a scrappy defense. Although Elif Akcivi notched an early kill and Campbellsville held the lead most of the way, Bethel tied things at 24. Despite two late kills from Vest to extend the set, the Wildcats outlasted the Tigers in extra points, 31–29, evening the match at one set apiece.
Determined to bounce back, Campbellsville dominated the third. Madi Hawley fired off a service ace to spark an early run, while Hager and Emily Aabye chipped in kills. Akcivi continued her offensive presence, and Maddie Pennington's back-row defense anchored the Tigers as they cruised to a 25–12 win.
In the fourth, Aabye struck early with a kill, and Sophie Hill followed with a block, forcing a Bethel timeout at 3–0. Campbellsville's energy carried through the set as Akcivi led the attack. After two late aces from Akcivi pushed the lead to 22-15, a final kill from Emily Aabye sealed the deal, closing the match 25–17.
