LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Tigers and Lady Tigers bowling teams competed this past weekend at the Boilermaker Classic in Lafayette, Indiana. They faced several nationally recognized programs. The women finished sixth with a total of 3,226 pins. The men secured fifth place out of 17 teams, finishing with 4,694 total pins and closing out this year's competition schedule.
For the women,
Elizabeth Morrow led the Tigers with a steady day on the lanes, posting games of 183, 114, 80, 161, and 171 for a total of 709 pins. Close behind was
Alexis Ellis, who rolled 135, 120, 143, 139, and 169 for a 706-pin performance.
Baylee Brewer added to the effort with games of 154, 91, 119, 107, and 130 to finish with 601 pins, while
Kaitlyn Szkwarok delivered a 521-pin series behind games of 99, 117, 117, 88, and 100. Rounding out the lineup,
Megan Wallace contributed 324 pins in three games, and
Ashley Vandiver added 174 pins across two appearances.
On the men's side,
Kadyn Hargis set the pace with a strong, balanced performance, rolling games of 224, 176, 181, 176, and 163 for 920 total pins.
James Riggs followed with a highlight-filled block of 191, 165, 257, 169, and 115 for 897 pins, while Joseph Ballard helped anchor the lineup with games of 180, 156, 192, 156, and 179 for 863 pins.
Ayden Sprowles added a solid 682 pins over four games, and
Ryan Smith provided an impactful mid-block spark, finishing with 631 pins in three games. Freshman
Mason Qualls also contributed 183 pins in his lone game to round out the rotation. The Tigers stayed competitive throughout the tournament, maintaining momentum against several nationally recognized programs.
Both teams have closed out this year's competitions and will return to action next year at the Kegel ISBPA Tournament in Addison, Illinois, on January 17th and 18.
