BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Following their 8-2 regular season and a return to the NAIA Football Championship Series after a ten-year absence, the Campbellsville University Fighting Tigers saw their success recognized on Thursday as the Mid-South Conference announced its 2025 All-Conference teams and individual award winners.
15 individual Fighting Tigers were named to the All-MSC First and Second Teams, highlighted by senior running back Tre' Bass, who was voted the Mid-South Conference Special Teams Player of the Year. Campbellsville received 16 nominations total.
Christian Davis was named the MSC Champion of Character. The MSC recognizes a Champions of Character Team for each championship sport. The student-athletes honored on the Champions of Character Team were nominated by their coaches for their leadership on and off campus and for demonstrating the five core character values of the NAIA.
Bass is the first ever to win the newly created award. While known for his explosive offensive production, Bass was honored for his gritty, unselfish contributions to the Tigers' special teams units. An instrumental part of the kick coverage and return teams, Bass recorded five tackles on special teams and forced a fumble this season, setting the physical tone for a unit that averaged 24.7 yards per kickoff return.
In addition to his major award, Bass was one of eight Tigers named First Team All-Mid-South Conference. He was joined on the First Team by offensive lineman Daulton Peetz, tight end Jack Busey, wide receiver Roland Hazard Jr., defensive lineman Allen Parrish, linebacker Ellis Reed, defensive back DQ Brown, and return specialist Ashton Auker.
Another eight Tigers earned Second Team All-Mid-South Conference honors, including a second selection for Auker as an All-Purpose player. Joining him were offensive lineman Marquez Washington, quarterback Jett Engle, kicker Colin Fratus, defensive lineman Ahmaury Calhoun, linebacker Chase Maynard, defensive back Aaron Cyrus, and long snapper Ben Banks.
First-Team Honorees
Tre' Bass earned First Team honors at running back after a dominant senior campaign. He led the Tigers' rushing attack with 1,081 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground, averaging 8.6 yards per carry. A true dual-threat, he amassed 1,526 all-purpose yards and 18 total touchdowns.
Roland Hazard Jr. was a deep-ball threat all season, earning First Team honors after catching 33 passes for a team-high 655 yards and five touchdowns. He averaged an explosive 19.8 yards per reception.
Jack Busey provided a reliable target and key blocking at tight end, hauling in 15 receptions for 164 yards and a touchdown.
Daulton Peetz anchored an offensive line that paved the way for an offense averaging 459.2 yards per game, helping the Tigers rush for nearly 1,800 yards on the season.
Ashton Auker took First Team honors as a Return Specialist. The junior was electric in the return game, averaging 31.8 yards per kickoff return and taking two back for touchdowns, including an historic 98-yarder against Bethel.
Defensively, Ellis Reed led the charge from the linebacker spot. The senior racked up a team-high 62 total tackles and 8.0 tackles for loss.
Allen Parrish was a force in the trenches, earning his spot on the defensive line after helping the Tigers hold opponents to just 99.4 rushing yards per game.
DQ Brown anchored the secondary, tying for the team lead with three interceptions and recording 44 total tackles to earn his First Team nod.
Second-Team Honorees
Quarterback Jett Engle landed on the Second Team after a stellar season directing the offense. Engle threw for 2,619 yards and 27 touchdowns against just eight interceptions, completing 63.5% of his passes.
Ashton Auker picked up his second honor of the day as the Second Team All-Purpose player, recognizing his versatility as a receiver and returner where he totaled 649 all-purpose yards.
Colin Fratus was automatic for the Tigers, earning Second Team honors after converting 11-of-12 field goals and 49-of-50 extra points, leading the team in scoring with 82 points.
Linebacker Chase Maynard was a tackling machine, finishing second on the team with 55 tackles and leading the defense with 4.0 sacks.
Defensive lineman Ahmaury Calhoun provided consistent pressure up front to earn his selection, while defensive back Aaron Cyrus was a lockdown presence in the secondary with 34 tackles and an interception.
Marquez Washington was honored on the offensive line, forming a potent duo with First-Teamer Peetz to protect the high-powered Tiger offense.
Ben Banks rounded out the honorees as the Second Team Long Snapper, providing consistent execution for the Tigers' kicking game.
The #15 Fighting Tigers will look to carry this momentum into the postseason as they prepare for their NAIA FCS Second Round match-up on November 29.
