KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Campbellsville University women's wrestling moves up one spot to 19th in the second regular-season NAIA Top 20 Coaches' Rating.
Campbellsville saw five top-placers at the highly competitive Adrian College Invite to open the season. The Messerly sisters both landed eighth-place finishes in their respective brackets. The Tigers opened their home campaign last Friday for Alumni Night, ending the night with a loss to Cumberlands despite three weight-class wins.
The Tigers will be back in action at the Missouri Valley Open in Marshall, Missouri, for the two-day event. The open will begin on Friday, November 21st.
Life University leads the Mid-South Conference, continuing as the top-ranked team in the NAIA. Indiana Tech is number five, Lindsey Wilson is number six, and Cumblerands is eighth. Montreat, Lourdes, and Rochester Christian are all receiving votes.
The Tigers have five wrestlers ranked in their own respective weight classes:
Gaby Perez (seventh at 145 lbs.),
Kylee Tait (eighth at 160 lbs.),
Olivia Messerly (tenth at 131 lbs.),
Cameron Ortiz (12th at 131 lbs.), and
Addison Messerly (18th at 124 lbs.).
