In the early stages of the game, both teams exchanged early scoring runs. Georgetown quickly said the town for the perimeter shooting as they avidly scored from the three-point line. Campbellsville responded with a layup from KJ Banks. Cobe Penny and Dalton Kramer followed with steady scoring opportunities for the Tigers, although the opposing Tigers counteracted their efforts from the field. Halfway through the half, Campbellsville tightened their defense to force Georgetown into multiple turnovers and capitalize off second-chance opportunities. The Tigers' shooting from the three-point line kept them close to the opposing Tigers' lead, but Georgetown's layups were too swift to overcome. Campbellsville faced multiple opportunities from the free-throw line to close the first half with a slim deficit, 29-28.

The Tigers came into the second half with relentless offensive efforts to close the gap, but the opposing Tigers' defense remained firm as the second half unfolded. Kam Vick and Cobe Penny elevated their momentum, but Campbellsville's turnovers and missed opportunities stalled their progress toward the advantage. Georgetown continued to capitalize with study baskets. Halfway through the second half, the Tigers' offense struggled to catch up under the opposing Tigers' pressure.
