Four Tigers reach double digits in 84-64 victory over Blue Raiders

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.- The Tigers hosted the Battle of Highway 55 against the Lindsey Wilson College Blue Raiders on Thursday for the last regular season game. With a 20-point advantage over Lindsey Wilson, Campbellsville took the victory, 84-64.

Kam Vick and Noah Gordon scored the first baskets of the game, putting the Tigers on the scoreboard early in the first half. The Blue Raiders retaliated shortly after, but Campbellsville maintained control over the ball. The tension on the court was palpable as both teams tried to grasp the lead. The Tigers got ahead with two three-point buckets by Dalton Kramer. Lindsey Wilson caught up with back-to-back three-pointers of their own. Vick and Cobe Penny tied the score from the charity stripe with only five minutes left in the half. The Blue Raiders scored back-to-back dunks to stay close to Campbellsville's lead, and with a layup, Lindsey Wilson tied the score at 30. The Tigers closed the half leading, 38-34.

The Blue Raiders were first to score in the opening of the second half. Jay Milburn's three consecutive baskets preserved Campbellsville's advantage halfway through the second half. Kramer's first assists of the night aided Ra Briggs in scoring his third three-point bucket of the match. Lindsey Wilson's presence on the court remained foul-heavy throughout the contest, bringing the Tigers to the free-throw line time after time. Campbellsville's scoring from the three-point line remained one of their biggest strengths to widen the gap on the scoreboard, as Milburn and KJ Banks' three-point shots extended their lead to 20 points over the Blue Raiders. The Tigers took the victory, 84-64.

The Tigers will be back in action on Saturday, March 2nd, for the Mid-South Conference Tournament Quarterfinals against the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders, beginning at 3:30 p.m. ET.

  • Four Tigers reached double digits throughout tonight's game: Vick with 22 points, Milburn with 15, Briggs with 13, and Penny with 12. Milburn also led with seven rebounds and three blocks, Vick with four assists, and Briggs with three three-pointers, matching his season-high.
  • Campbellsville surpassed Lindsey Wilson in multiple statistical categories, most significantly: field-goal percentage (51.8%-38.3%), three-point percentage (52.2%-33.3%), rebounds (34-26), and bench points (25-9).
  • Tonight's victory is the Tigers' 2nd consecutive win against the Blue Raiders; Campbellsville has not lost a game against Lindsey Wilson this season.
