CHOCTAW, Okla.- The (RV) Lady Tigers took the road to battle the Columbia College Cougars and the Bellevue University Bruins on Saturday. Campbellsville closed the day with one victory and one defeat.
GAME ONE: Campbellsville 4, Columbia 2
Emily Reynolds opened the game with a home run in the first inning of play. The Cougars responded with a run of their own during the bottom of the first, tying the score. Both teams collected hits throughout their shares of the second, third, and fourth innings, but neither managed to score and grasp the lead.
The Lady Tigers came into the fifth inning with fierce energy to build some momentum and claw their way up the advantage. Addisyn McNeil collected another run for Campbellsville with a single by Korey Harris. Shortly after, Harris followed across the plate after a bunt by Reynolds.
The sixth inning was short-lived for both teams in a three-up, three-down style, with a gap of only one run on the scoreboard going into the final inning.
In the opening of the seventh inning, Camille Conkright doubled to left field and, with a triple by Harris, made it across home for another Lady Tiger run. Campbellsville closed the game with a victory, 4-2.
GAME TWO: Campbellsville 2, Bellevue 4
The Bruins opened the top of the first inning with a hit, but they were unable to score. The Lady Tigers' share of the inning was short-lived, being put away in three-up, three-down style.
Bellevue was swiftly put away by Campbellsville in a three-up, three-down fashion at the top of the second inning. Jessie Daniels scored the Lady Tigers' first run of the game with a single by Rylee Warner. Shortly after, Warner stole second base but was unable to score before the end of the inning.
The third inning was cut short for both teams, putting each other away in three-up, three-down fashion. Although they both collected hits, neither managed to score in the next two innings.
The Bruins scored two more runs throughout their portion of the sixth. Reynolds followed with a triple to right field, bringing Harris across the plate. As the final inning came around, Bellevue scored another run during the top of the seventh. Campbellsville was not able to score any further, falling to the Bruins, 4-2.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action tomorrow, Sunday, February 23rd, for their second day in Choctaw, Oklahoma, battling the Southern Oregon University Raiders at 10:30 a.m. and the Avila University Eagles at 1:15 p.m. ET.

- Campbellsville surpassed the Cougars in multiple statistical categories of the game: hits (6-4), RBI (4-1), at bats (28-23), and home runs (1-0). Additionally, Leah Holland and Ellie Coley worked together to strike out three Cougars.
