CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The (RV) Lady Tigers hosted the Union Commonwealth University Bulldogs on Wednesday for a doubleheader. Scoring almost five times as many runs per game, Campbellsville took both victories against Union as Jessie Daniels extended her single-season home run record with three on the day.
GAME ONE: Campbellsville 20, Union 4
Although one Bulldog reached base during the top of the first, they did not manage to score before switching sides. Daniels came into the bottom of the first with a three-run home run to earn an early lead for the Lady Tigers.
The second inning began with Union put away in a three-up, three-down style. Hannah Hackworth and Korey Harris collected a double, crossing the plate for two more Campbellsville runs. Jessie Daniels stepped to the plate with another home run to center field. Singles from Caroline Pitcock and Hackworth resulted in two more runs for the Lady Tigers. Ashby Murt grounded out at third base to put up another run on the scoreboard, Campbellsville on double digits.
The Bulldogs collected their first two runs of the game throughout the bottom of the third. Madison Reed opened the bottom of the third with a home run to right field. Rylee Warner followed with a grand slam to bring the Lady Tigers to 15 runs. Taylor Windell and Camille Conkright followed, each collecting a single to put up two more runs. Macy Hogg and Jillian Jeffries entered the game, bringing Windell and Reed home to expand the Lady Tigers' lead.
Union collected an error during the top of the fourth, yet to score again. A sacrifice fly by Conkright resulted in Campbellsville's 20th run of the contest.
The Bulldogs brought two batters across the plate to open the fifth inning, but not enough to catch up with the Lady Tigers' upper hand.
GAME TWO: Campbellsville 13, Union 3
The Bulldogs opened the game with two runs in the top of the first. Daniels tied the score with a two-run home run at the bottom of the inning.
Union was quickly put away in a three-up, three-down style during the top of the second. Reed took the lead for Campbellsville after a single to right field by Jeffries, who followed shortly after scoring on a throw.
With a single to left field, the Bulldogs scored another run at the top of the third. Daniels and Metcalfe racked up back-to-back triples. Pitcock followed with a two-run home run. Reed, Jeffries, Reynolds, and Harris each scored a run to bring Campbellsville to double digits on the scoreboard.
The fourth was short-lived for Union, put away in three-up, three-down fashion. Campbellsville collected two more runs during its share of the inning. Although the Bulldogs attempted to retaliate during the fifth, they only managed to collect a couple of hits, unable to rack up any more runs before the end of the game.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action, traveling to Henderson, Tennessee, for a three-game series against the Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions from April 18th to April 19th.

- At the end of the doubleheader, Daniels, Jeffries, Reynolds, Reed, and Harris led with four runs each, and Daniels also led with five hits, eight RBIs, and three home runs. Reynolds, Coley, and Leah Holland struck out seven Bulldog batters together.
- Daniels has scored a home run in four consecutive at-bats, stretching across multiple games.
- Campbellsville surpassed Union in all statistical categories of the games. Most significantly, in the first game: hits (19-5), at-bats (30-20), doubles (4-0), home runs (5-0), and RBI (20-4). In the second game: hits (13-5), at-bats (28-18), doubles (3-1), triples (2-0), home runs (2-0), and RBI (13-3).
