Lady Tigers leave Lady Lions' den winless

HENDERSON, Tenn. — The (RV) Lady Tigers played the Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions on Saturday for a third game this weekend. The Lady Tigers scored only one run, ending the three-game series with no wins.

Jessie Daniels opened the game with a single to left field, unable to reach base before switching sides with Freed-Hardeman. After two free bases and a single, the Lady Lions scored the first run of the game on an error by shortstop.

Although both teams collected hits during the second inning, neither could score.

Campbellsville was quickly put away in three-up, three-down style during the top of the third. Freed-Hardeman got ahead with a two-run home run in the bottom of the inning.

Rylee Warner, Taylor Windell, and Jillian Jeffries each collected hits throughout the top of the fourth and fifth innings but could not reach home before being put away. The Lady Lion's bottom of the fourth and fifth were short-lived, put away in a three-up, three-down fashion.

Selynna Metcalfe came into the sixth inning with a single to left field, but the Lady Tigers were yet to make it to the scoreboard. Freed-Hardeman widened the gap on the scoreboard with two more runs after a double through the left side.

Madison Reed singled to right center in the opening of the final inning, shortly after crossing the home plate for Campbellsville's first run of the game. Although Korey Harris and Daniels followed with hits, the game ended before they could score further runs for the Lady Tigers.

The Lady Tigers will be back in action on Tuesday, April 22nd, at home, hosting the Bryan College Lions for a doubleheader at 2 & 4 p.m. ET.
