LEBANON, Tenn.- The #25 Lady Tigers took on the Cumberland University Phoenix to finish out their three game series. Campbellsville closed the day with two victories in double digits.
GAME ONE: Campbellsville 11, Cumberland 6
Emily Reynolds opened the game with a double to right center. Caroline Pitcock followed with a hit by pitch. After a single to left field, Reynolds and Pitcock both crossed the plate to put the Lady Tigers on the scoreboard. Another single by Hannah Hackwroth brought Rylee Warner in right after, closing the top of the first with three runs under Campbellsville's belt. The Phoenix were quickly put away in three-up, three-down fashion during their share of the inning.
The second inning was short lived, with neither team able to score, although Cumberland collected a hit during the bottom of the second.
Warner singled to center field to bring Jessie Daniels in for another Lady Tiger run to begin the third. The Phoenix scored their first run during their share of the inning with a single to left field.
Although Hackworth collected a single in the opening of the fourth inning, Campbellsville did not collect any runs. Cumberland came into the bottom of the fourth with avid batters to tie the score at four.
Daniels stepped onto the plate with the first home run of the game. Pitcock and Warner reached home to expand the Lady Tigers' lead. After singling to shortstop, the Phoenix collected another run before the end of the inning.
Pitcock scored the second home run of the day throughout the top of the sixth. Cumberland collected two hits during their portion of the inning, but were unable to score.
Selynna Metcalfe opened the final inning with Campbellsville's third home run of the game. Hackworth and Korey Harris each collected another run, more than doubling the Phoenix on the scoreboard. Although Cumberland managed to score another run, it was not enough to catch up with the Lady Tigers' advantage.
GAME TWO: Campbellsville 13, Cumberland 5
The Lady Tigers came into the second game with two free bases and a single. Pitcock, Daniels, and Reynolds collected back to back runs, to set the pace of the game early. The Phoenix retaliated during the bottom of the first with a 2-RBI home run.
Campbellsville's top of the second propelled them forward on the scoreboard to assert their dominance on the field. Taylor Windell and Harris each scored a run. with a 2-RBI single to left field by Warner, Daniels and Windell scored again, followed by Pitcock. A 2-RBI double to right center by Metcalfe put the Lady Tigers with double digits on the scoreboard as Ashby Murt and Warner crossed the plate. Metcalfe followed shortly after and Campbellsville's upper hand increased to ten runs over Cumberland. The Phoenix collected another run during the bottom of the inning.
The Lady Tigers were put away swiftly in three-out, three-down style during the top of the third. Cumberland collected back to back runs during their share of the third.
Although Campbellsville collected three hits in the opening of the fourth inning, they were unable to collect any runs. The Phoenix were put away in three-up, three down style, unable to score before the end of the inning.
Daniels scored a home run to open the fifth inning, cutting the game short with a Lady Tiger victory.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action hosting the Lindsey Wilson College Blue Raiders for a three game series from Friday, April 11th to Saturday, April 12th.

- At the end of the day, Reynolds led with eight at bats, Pitcock with six runs, Warner with five hits, Metcalfe with six RBIs, and Daniels with two home runs.
- The Lady Tigers outperformed the Phoenix in most statistical categories throughout the games. In the first game: hits (14-12), home runs (3-0), RBI (10-5), walks (4-0), and OPS (1.397-.735). In the second game: hits (13-9), doubles (1-0), RBI (13-4), walks (3-1), and OPS (1.178-.885).
- In the last four seasons, Campbellsville has only lost two games against Cumberland.
