3-0 record vaults #16 Tigers to highest NAIA ranking since 2015

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Campbellsville University Football, hot off of their 3-0 start to 2025, were announced as 16th in the first regular-season 2025 Netting Professionals NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll, the national office announced Monday afternoon. That rating is the highest for the program since the preseason poll before the 2015 season.

The Tigers have put up impressive numbers to begin their year. Campbellsville is top-ten in total offense (8th with 1,348 yards), yards per rush (9th with 6.5), passing yards (10th with 837), and passing first downs (10th with 35). On the opposite side of the ball, the Fighting Tiger defense is 1st in the nation with five recovered fumbles and fourth with their 13 sacks.

First-year starter Jett Engle has thrown for 279 yards a game and has connected with his wide-outs for seven touchdowns. Transfer Roland Hazard Jr. has the most total yards receiving with 242, while Easton Barlow snags the most yards per game (101), and Ashton Auker has a team-high 13 total receptions. Tre' Bass has already rumbled for 303 rushing yards and three touchdowns while Archelaus Smith has added 126 yards and two touchdowns of his own.

Defensively, Ellis Reed has collected 17 team-leading tackles and Chase Maynard has paced the prolific quarterback-pressuring squad with his three sacks. Four separate Tigers have picked off opposing quarterbacks while the aforementioned Maynard has punched free two fumbles and picked one up too.

The Georgetown (Ky.) Tigers are the highest-ranked Mid-South Conference team in 6th while the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders jumped into the top-ten from not being mentioned at all in the preseason rating.
