Whitney Hay,
Tyra Flowers, and
Hallie Allen set the tone immediately, opening the game with an 11-0 run. The Lady Tiger defense was suffocating, forcing turnover after turnover to prevent the Bruins from finding any rhythm from the field. Carolina managed to interrupt Campbellsville's onslaught with two free throws at the 6:57 mark, but the Lady Tigers responded with six straight points before the Bruins finally sank their first field goal. With three minutes left in the first quarter, the teams exchanged three-pointers, marking the Bruins' first long-range bucket but expanding Campbellsville's advantage to 27-10 by the end of the frame.
The second quarter began with perfect free throws from Allen, sparking another surge. While the Bruins managed to reach double digits from beyond the arc, the Lady Tigers showcased their dominance with another 11-point run, highlighted by a three-pointer from
Paige Serafini and fueled by the bench with layups from
Dea Bradley and
Abby Gilbert. Campbellsville's precision passing widened the gap, as the defense collected steals and converted them into transition points. By the final two minutes of the half,
Lainey Johnson and Hay had already reached double figures, sending the Lady Tigers to the locker room with a commanding 60-17 lead.
Coming out of the break, Campbellsville engineered its longest run of the game, scoring 16 unanswered points behind the quartet of Serafini, Hay, Allen, and Flowers. It wasn't until a Bruin from the bench connected on a three-pointer that Carolina scored its first basket of the half. Allen's career-high distribution continued to fuel the offense, setting up a layup by Serafini and a triple by
Talynne Shearer. The game saw a brief scoring lull late in the period, broken only by Gilbert at the charity stripe and a late offensive rebound bucket. The quarter took a physical turn, with both teams entering the bonus as the period closed with Campbellsville leading 87-22.
Hay reached the 20-point mark just four seconds into the final quarter, converting a layup off Shearer's assist. From there, Campbellsville's depth took over. The Lady Tiger bench propelled the score past the century mark, with Johnson,
Ella House, Bradley,
Bella Stiles, and Gilbert relentlessly attacking the paint. The Bruins struggled to find the bottom of the net, managing only six points in the final frame as they missed four shots and three free throws down the stretch. Campbellsville closed out the contest with a resounding 113-28 final score.
