  • Hannah Hackworth was an offensive juggernaut, going 2-for-3 with an RBI double and a solo home run down the left-field line.
  • Markham earned the win to improve to 2-0 on the young season, recording four strikeouts over two masterful frames.
  • With the victory, the Lady Tigers improve to an impressive 4-1 overall to start the 2026 campaign.
  • Up next for Campbellsville is their first home contests of the season: a series against these same Midway Eagles. Those games will begin on February 19 at 1 p.m. ET.
From the first pitch, Campbellsville dictated the pace of the game, crafting a defensive masterpiece in the circle. Starting pitcher Emma Markham was practically untouchable. The senior right-hander systematically dismantled the Midway lineup, racking up four strikeouts over two hitless innings of work to earn her second win of the season.

While Markham kept the Eagles grounded early, the Lady Tiger bats took a couple of innings to find their rhythm against Midway's starter. After a quiet first two frames, Campbellsville erupted for an eight-run onslaught in the top of the third inning.

The rally began when Macy McCoy singled to shortstop and Korey Harris followed with a base hit to third. Caroline Pitcock opened the floodgates with an RBI single to left field, bringing McCoy home. Pitcock then swiped second, setting the stage for Jessie Daniels, who roped a two-run double to score both Pitcock and Harris. The extra-base hits kept coming as Rylee Warner immediately followed with an RBI double of her own, plating Daniels to make it 4-0.

Campbellsville's aggressive baserunning and Midway's defensive miscues further compounded the inning. Warner stole third and subsequently scored on a wild pitch. Later in the frame, after Lydia Jones drew a walk and advanced to third on a Selynna Metcalfe single, Jones darted home on a passed ball. Hannah Hackworth kept the line moving with a clutch RBI double to left-center, scoring Ashlan Estep, who was pinch-running for Metcalfe. Jillian Jeffries capped the massive inning with a sacrifice fly to left field, scoring Hackworth and pushing the Lady Tiger lead to 8-0.

Ellie Coley took the ball in the bottom of the third and continued the dominance, striking out four batters over two perfect hitless innings of relief. The Lady Tigers added one final piece of insurance in the top of the fifth. Hackworth turned on a pitch and launched a solo home run down the left-field line, cementing the score at 9-0.

In the bottom of the fifth, Julie Norris entered the circle to secure the combined no-hitter. Though a Campbellsville fielding error briefly allowed Midway to reach base, the Lady Tiger defense swiftly erased the threat. Catcher Cambry Cheek fired a strike to second base to catch an Eagle pinch-runner stealing, and Norris followed up by freezing the final batter with a strikeout looking to end the game and seal the combined no-hitter.
