MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The (RV) Campbellsville University Women's Flag Football team opened the 2026 season in spectacular fashion, sweeping their Friday doubleheader with a 66-6 rout of LaGrange College and a thrilling 26-24 comeback victory over Huntingdon College.

Game One: Campbellsville 66, LaGrange 6
In the early matchup against LaGrange, the Lady Tigers' offense was firing on all cylinders, amassing 393 total yards of offense. Starting quarterback Korine Talkington set the tone quickly, completing 13 of 19 passes for 167 yards and four touchdowns to build a commanding lead. Backup quarterbacks Emani Scott and Kiersten Pasma kept the momentum rolling as the game progressed; Scott threw for 88 yards and three scores, while Pasma added 77 yards and two touchdowns of her own.

Natalia Gomez was the primary beneficiary of the aerial assault, pulling down a team-high nine receptions for 87 yards and three touchdowns. Alex Odom added four catches for 75 yards and a pair of scores, while Monica Montes secured six catches for 66 yards and two offensive touchdowns.

Defensively, Campbellsville completely suffocated the LaGrange passing attack, forcing six interceptions. Emani Scott pulled double-duty, stepping up in the defensive backfield to grab three interceptions for 17 return yards. Montes also added to her spectacular day on the opposite side of the ball, reading the opposing quarterback for a 23-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter. In the trenches, Rashyia Minnex was an absolute force rushing the passer, tallying four tackles for loss and three sacks.

Game Two: Campbellsville 26, Huntingdon 24
The Lady Tigers faced a much stiffer test in their afternoon clash against the host, Huntingdon College. Despite an early 13-yard touchdown pass from Talkington, Campbellsville found themselves trailing 18-6 heading into the third quarter.

However, the Lady Tigers flipped the script with a massive 20-point explosion in the third frame. Talkington connected with Odom for a six-yard touchdown strike, and the duo quickly followed up on the next possession with an eight-yard touchdown pass to shift the momentum entirely. Odom finished the contest as the primary target, logging a stellar 10 receptions for 121 yards and two touchdowns. Talkington ended the gritty game, completing 31 of 61 attempts for 299 yards and three touchdowns.

The defining turning point arrived late in the third quarter when Emani Scott jumped a route for a clutch interception, taking it 20 yards to the house for a critical defensive pick-six.

Huntingdon kept the pressure on in the final frame, scoring a late touchdown to narrow the gap to 26-24. However, the Campbellsville defense held firm to close out the victory. Linebacker Timaya Woody anchored the unit with a game-high 13 flag pulls, while Scott added nine stops to complement her pivotal defensive touchdown. Anaya Campbell also provided a crucial sack to help stall Huntingdon's offensive rhythm down the stretch.
