CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The (RV) Lady Tigers hosted the #13 University of the Cumberlands Patriots on Friday for the kickoff of 2026 conference play. In a pitcher's duel and a single hit in the game, the Lady Tigers were unable to best the Patriots.
- Caroline Pitcock recorded the only Lady Tigers hit of the day.
- Emma Markham finished the game with five strikeouts, pitching all seven innings and allowing just a single hit.
- The Lady Tigers will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, March 14 hosting the University of the Cumberlands Patriots to complete the three-game series this weekend in a doubleheader beginning at 1 and 3 p.m. ET.
Lydia Jones and Karleigh Walker reached base via walk to begin the bottom of the first. Caroline Pitcock stepped up to the plate with a single to left field, attempting to bring Jones home, but an out at home closed the inning before Campbellsville was able to score.
Hannah Hackworth and Caroline Pitcock also earned free bases in the second and third innings, but were unable to reach the plate before the Lady Tigers were put away.
The first four innings were short lived for the Patriots, put away in three-up, three-down, unable to collect any hits.
Cumberlands scored the first and only run of the day during the top of the fifth, after reaching base on an error by second base. Campbellsville finished the fifth inning with two batters left stranded.
During the last couple of innings, both teams had a couple of batters reach base, but neither scored again, closing the game with a victory for Cumberlands.
