PARK CITY, Kan. – The #17 Campbellsville University women's wrestling team concluded its 2025-26 season on the biggest stage this past weekend, competing at the NAIA Women's Wrestling National Championship. The Lady Tigers were headlined by a phenomenal, podium-placing performance from freshman standout
Makennah Craft, who captured third place and All-American honors at 103 pounds.
- Freshman Makennah Craft secured All-American honors with a spectacular 3rd-place finish in the 103-pound bracket at the NAIA Women's Wrestling National Championship.
- After an early setback, Craft proved her resilience by battling through the consolation bracket, racking up multiple pins and decisions to reach the podium.

#2 Craft, who entered the national tournament as the Mid-South Conference Champion, faced the grueling reality of the national bracket but showcased her elite pedigree when it mattered most. She began her national postseason career with an unbelievable come-from-behind, last-second victory over #6 Calli Connally of Wayland Baptist.
When pushed into the consolation bracket by #10 Alexis Miller of Oklahoma City, the freshman refused to be denied. Craft navigated a treacherous path through the back half of the bracket to keep her podium hopes alive. She pinned #11 Makayla Young of Indiana Tech in 48 seconds before grinding out a gritty 7-5 decision over Grand View's #7 Isabelle Apple. Showcasing her tactical defense and mat control, Craft then secured a tight 5-4 decision past #4 Lita Cruz of Grand View to advance further.
In the third-place match, Craft left absolutely no doubt. The freshman overwhelmed Saint Mary's #5 Alexsys Jacquez, securing the bronze medal and her All-American designation with a flawless 11-0 technical fall.
The Lady Tigers also saw strong, battling efforts from their veteran qualifiers across the lineup. #17
Addison Messerly (124 lbs.) went 1-2, losing to #6 Maya Davis of Grand View, then besting #9 Berlin Kiddoo of Central Methodist, before suffering her final defeat to Mei Ogden of Bismarck State.
At 131 lbs., #20
Olivia Messerly also went 1-2, falling from the winner's bracket against conference-foe #7 Jelia Ramos of Lindsey Wilson before getting her win in a 10-6 decision against #3 Jade Morales (Southern Oregon).
At 145 lbs., returning national qualifier #9
Gaby Perez put up a hard fight in a bracket loaded with talent, highlighting her run with a match that went the distance in a 10-3 decision against #4 Elise Twait of Providence. She then fell in consecutive bouts to #17 Holland Weiber of Southern Oregon (5-3 decision) and then #6 Brooke-Lynn Rush of Missouri Baptist (3-2 decision).

Kylee Tait (160 lbs.) also represented the Tigers with pride, gaining crucial national championship mat time despite going 0-2 against stiff competition (Indiana Tech's #6 Bo Geibe and Wayland Baptist's #12 Mohagany Cassel).
With Craft's All-American finish serving as a cornerstone achievement, the Campbellsville University Lady Tigers wrap up a successful season and will look to build upon their national experience heading into next year.
