  • The Lady Tigers will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, March 21st, taking on the Marian University Knights in the NAIA National Tournament Quarterfinals, beginning at 9 p.m. ET.
From the opening tip, the Lady Tigers set a surgical pace. Less than 15 seconds into the first quarter, Dea Bradley scored the first bucket of the game in the paint off a feed from Whitney Hay. The Campbellsville defense skillfully forced several early turnovers from Spring Arbor, with Tyra Flowers protecting the rim. After the Cougars briefly took the lead with a three-ball, Hay tied the score at eight apiece. The pressure from both teams quickly escalated, resulting in early foul calls and heavy offensive rebounding. When Spring Arbor built a brief lead on back-to-back possessions, Hallie Allen took matters into her own hands, narrowing the gap with a three-pointer. Bradley and Allen worked together down the stretch of the opening frame to push Spring Arbor into a deficit, as Campbellsville took a 21-18 lead into the second quarter.

In the opening minutes of the second quarter, Campbellsville battled through a brief shooting slump, but the relentless offensive rebounding of Abby Gilbert and Lainey Johnson continually secured second-chance opportunities. Following an exchange of buckets, Johnson stepped to the charity stripe and went three-for-three to preserve Campbellsville's advantage. At the 7:09 mark, Hay's short-range jumper made her the first player on the court to reach double figures, and Allen followed closely behind by preserving her perfect shooting from long range. Spring Arbor's Ashley Weller initiated a run to tighten the score to a single-possession game, but Hay retaliated with back-to-back jumpers. However, following a late exchange of baskets, the Cougars managed to knot the score at 39-39 heading into the halftime break.

After the break, a foul call on Campbellsville brought Spring Arbor to the free-throw line to score the first points of the second half and steal the lead. Allen's clutch three-point shooting counteracted the Cougars' efforts, as she continued her perfect shooting from deep. After an exchange of twos, Spring Arbor regained a one-possession lead, but the Cougars' offense struggled against Campbellsville's pressure, coughing up back-to-back turnovers. At the 4:34 mark, Hay reached 21 points, carrying the offensive load. With two perfect free throws and a layup, Flowers tied the score at 50, but Spring Arbor retaliated with a layup of their own to reclaim the upper hand. Johnson drained her second three-point bucket of the night to briefly regain the lead for Campbellsville, but the Cougars clawed back with late execution to take a 59-54 advantage. A late free throw by Bradley and a clutch three-pointer from Hay in the closing seconds trimmed the Lady Tigers' deficit to just two points, 59-57, at the end of the third frame.

Spring Arbor's Ashley Weller opened the fourth quarter with three straight points, extending their lead to five. The game then saw a scoring halt for nearly two minutes as both teams ratcheted up the defensive intensity. Campbellsville broke the drought with a series of defensive stops that translated into offensive momentum, regaining the lead for the first time since the midway point of the third quarter. The Lady Tigers completely suffocated Spring Arbor in the final period, holding the Cougars to a frigid 15.4% shooting percentage in the fourth quarter and ripping off a massive run to put the game away. Hay's dominance in the paint did not lessen as the clock ticked down; she widened the gap on the scoreboard with clutch baskets and secured her career-high 30th point. Outscoring the Cougars 18-6 in the final ten minutes, Campbellsville pulled away for the 75-65 victory to officially punch their ticket to the Quarterfinals.
