COLUMBIA, Ky. — The (RV) Lady Tiger softball team took on the #11 Lindsey Wilson University Blue Raiders for a doubleheader Thursday afternoon, marking the first day of the final series of the 2026 regular season. Campbellsville dominated the opening contest with an 8-1 victory before falling 6-5 in an eight-inning heartbreaker in game two.
- Second baseman Lydia Jones finished the day with a team-high four hits, compiling a .444 average (4-for-9) across the two games to consistently set the table for the Campbellsville offense.
- Third baseman Madison Reed provided the biggest swing in the 8-1 opening victory, launching a decisive three-run home run to left field in the third inning.
- The Campbellsville pitching trio of Emma Markham, Leah Holland, and Ellie Coley worked together effectively, striking out a combined seven Blue Raiders throughout the doubleheader.
- The Lady Tigers will close their regular season tomorrow against the Blue Raiders.
GAME ONE: Campbellsville 8, Lindsey Wilson 1
The first game began as a pitcher's duel, with neither team able to collect a hit in the opening inning. Lindsey Wilson was the first to strike, pushing across a run on a passed ball during the bottom of the second inning to take a 1-0 lead.
The Lady Tigers immediately responded in their share of the third.
Macy McCoy delivered a clutch sacrifice fly to center field to bring
Lydia Jones home and tie the game. Moments later,
Madison Reed stepped to the plate and propelled Campbellsville forward with a massive three-run home run to left field, scoring
Karleigh Walker and
Jessie Daniels to take a 4-1 advantage.
Daniels kept the momentum rolling in the top of the fourth with an RBI double to left-center, allowing
Hannah Hackworth to score the fifth run for the Lady Tigers.
While senior pitcher
Emma Markham was busy shutting down the potent Lindsey Wilson offense, Campbellsville's bats refused to slow down. In the top of the sixth,
Korey Harris laid down a perfect RBI bunt single, followed by another sacrifice fly from Jones, expanding the Lady Tigers' lead to six runs.
Walker provided the final exclamation point, sealing the victory for Campbellsville with a solo home run to center field at the top of the seventh to finalize the 8-1 score. Markham tossed a complete game to earn the win, scattering six hits and allowing zero earned runs while striking out two.
GAME TWO: Lindsey Wilson 6, Campbellsville 5 (8 Innings)
The Lady Tigers jumped out to an early lead in the nightcap. In the very first inning, Daniels laced an RBI double to right-center to score Jones and put Campbellsville on the board.
The offense exploded again in the top of the second inning. Harris stepped up to the plate and ripped a two-run triple to center field, driving in Hackworth and
Rylee Warner. Jones immediately followed with an RBI single to right field, giving the Lady Tigers a commanding 4-0 advantage.
Campbellsville's bats went quiet over the next two innings, giving #11 Lindsey Wilson the opportunity to mount a comeback. In the bottom of the fourth, the Blue Raiders tied the score at 4-4 behind a towering three-run home run and a two-out RBI single.
In the top of the fifth,
Ashlan Estep took matters into her own hands to reclaim the lead, beating out an RBI infield single to shortstop to score McCoy and put Campbellsville back on top, 5-4. However, the single-run advantage was short-lived, as Lindsey Wilson lifted a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth to tie the score at five.
Neither team managed to secure the victory in the seventh inning, pushing the regular-season finale into extra innings. The Lady Tigers were retired in order in the top of the eighth. The Blue Raiders seized the opportunity in the home half, utilizing a walk-off RBI double to left-center to secure the 6-5 extra-innings win and salvage the doubleheader split.
