The Lady Tigers struck early to set the tone, as sophomore quarterback
Korine Talkington connected with Ava Kelley for an eight-yard touchdown strike on the opening drive. The Blue Raiders were quick to retaliate, marching down the field for a two-yard touchdown rush on the ensuing possession to tie the game. Unfazed by the response, Campbellsville reclaimed the advantage on their next drive with a bullet pass from Talkington to
Alex Odom for a 10-yard touchdown, closing the first quarter with a 14-7 lead.
Opening the second quarter, Lindsey Wilson aimed to even the score, but a failed conversion left them trailing 14-13.
Monica Montes then took matters into her own hands to extend the Lady Tigers' advantage, taking the top off the defense to haul in a spectacular 66-yard touchdown bomb from Talkington.
The Blue Raiders countered by marching down to the Campbellsville four-yard line, connecting for another score to shrink their deficit. Then, in the closing minutes of the first half, Lindsey Wilson's Emily Good jumped a route to intercept Talkington, returning it 15 yards for a defensive pick-six that gave the Blue Raiders a 27-21 halftime lead.
After a physical, scoreless third quarter, Campbellsville jumped into the final frame seeking to take back control of the game. Another relentless drive resulted in Talkington hitting
Natalia Gomez for a clutch 23-yard touchdown, successfully flipping the score to 28-27 in favor of the Lady Tigers.
Campbellsville held that narrow advantage as the clock ticked down to the final minute. However, a costly pass interference penalty marched the Blue Raiders down to the 13-yard line. Following an eight-yard rush to gain favorable field position, Lindsey Wilson secured a five-yard touchdown on third down with just 58 seconds left on the clock. The late score secured the 33-28 victory for the visitors, leaving Campbellsville just short at the final whistle.
