CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. —
Sydney Hall made four saves as Campbellsville University held No. 19 Spring Arbor University scoreless Thursday at Finley Stadium, earning a 0-0 draw to remain unbeaten through seven matches.
- Campbellsville remained unbeaten. The Tigers moved to 5-0-2, while Spring Arbor moved to 5-0-1.
- Hall delivered a complete-match shutout. She played all 90 minutes and stopped each of Spring Arbor's four shots on goal.
- The Tigers recorded their fifth clean sheet in seven matches. Campbellsville has allowed goals in only two contests this season.
- Marta Prieto generated Campbellsville's most dangerous opportunities. Prieto accounted for four of the Tigers' six shots and placed three attempts on frame, forcing saves in the 44th, 77th, and 82nd minutes.
- Campbellsville withstood increased second-half pressure. Spring Arbor took seven of its 12 shots after halftime, but Hall made three saves during that period to preserve the draw.
- Both sides remained disciplined in a physical match. Campbellsville and Spring Arbor committed 16 fouls apiece, with five yellow cards issued during the final 31 minutes.
- The margins remained narrow throughout. Spring Arbor finished with advantages of 12-6 in shots, 4-3 in shots on goal, and 3-2 in corner kicks, but neither team found a breakthrough.
Spring Arbor produced the first attempt in the fifth minute when Tessa Ponstein sent a shot wide. Prieto answered with a blocked effort three minutes later before Hall made the match's first save on Alana Simmons in the 17th minute.
Campbellsville created a sequence of opportunities midway through the opening half.
Sofia Lara had one shot blocked before another missed wide, and
Laura Munoz delivered the Tigers' first corner kick in the 26th minute.
Prieto registered Campbellsville's first shot on goal in the 44th minute, but Spring Arbor goalkeeper Kailey Walcott made the save to send the match into halftime scoreless. The Cougars held a 5-4 advantage in first-half shots, with each goalkeeper making one save.
Spring Arbor applied additional pressure after the break. Ava Staker had two attempts miss the target before Hall stopped Ponstein in the 65th minute. Hall then denied Simmons twice over the next nine minutes, including a save in the 73rd minute that kept the match level.
Campbellsville responded with its strongest attacking stretch of the second half. Prieto forced Walcott into a save on a header in the 77th minute, then earned the Tigers' second corner kick shortly afterward.
Prieto tested Walcott again with another header in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper recorded her third save. Spring Arbor's final attempt came two minutes later when Staker sent a shot high.
Hall and the Campbellsville defense closed out the final minutes to secure the Tigers' fifth shutout of the season and a draw against their nationally ranked opponent. Campbellsville finished with three shots on goal, all from Prieto, while limiting Spring Arbor to four attempts on frame.
