High School: Attended Lafayette High School where he swam for six years. He competed in mid-distance events, swimming the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:36.06. He also swims the 50 free (27.70), 100 free (1:01.59), 200 free (2:20.23) and 50 fly (30.72).

Club: Swam for Palomar Swim Team for three years and was team captain.

Personal: Son of Julie Fathergill. He volunteers for Tuesday Teens and his church. Fathergill is majoring in Civil Engineering with a minor in Music.
