2013: Benton played and started in 54 games as a sophomore. .. third on the team in batting average with .325 and hits with 50 ... second on the team in double with 15 ... 6 home runs ... 40 RBIs ... SLG % .552 ... OB% of .416 ... Awarded first team All-Conference and Academic All-Conference ... Played a major part in the 2013 MSC Regular Season Championship.
2012: Started all 65 games as a freshman … Named MSC Freshman of the year … NCCAA All-American … ended the season batting .385 with 75 hits runs scored, and 44 RBIs … totaled 9 home runs … ended with a .631 slugging percentage … ranked third in the MSC for hits (75), doubles (19), and stolen bases (11).
HIGH SCHOOL: Played varsity ball at Meade County High School … member of the Kentucky East-West All-Star Team … named All-District and All-Region in 2010 and 2011.
PERSONAL: Majoring in exercise science/sports medicine with a math minor. Daughter of John and Denise Benton. Twin sister, Erin, also plays on the Lady Tigers. Member of the SWAT Club at CU.
