Alex Watson

Alex Watson is entering his first year as a graduate assistant for the Campbellsville baseball team. Watson is frmo Las Vega, Nev. where he graduated from Coronado High School in 2009. Out of high school, Watson attended the University of Arizona before transferring to the College of Southern Nevade in 2012-2013 and played one season coming out of the bullpen. During that season, Watson saw action in 16 games logging 25 innings, striking out 36 while walking only 16 batters. He ended the season with a 3.24 ERA and three wins. 

Watson and former pitching coach Brad Neffendorf were able to meet in the summer of 2013 in Pennsylvania. Watson played for Neffendorf's summer team, the Splippery Rock Sliders. During that summer, Watson committed to the Tigers and played one season for CU.

In his one season as a Tiger, Watson appeared in 18 games and started two of those. He recorded an ERA of 4.75 while throwing 55 innings. Opponents hit .301 against the southpaw and Watson only walked 12 batters while striking out 48.

Last season, Watson worked alongside Neffendorf and the pitchers, helping lead them to the third-best ERA in the nation 2.66.

This season, after the departure of Neffendorf, Watson has transitioned into the full-time pitching coach at Campbellsville University.Â
