Jordan Alves, a native of Lawrenceburg, Ky., joined the Campbellsville University athletic department in August 2013 as a graduate assistant and was promoted to Sports Information Director on May 5, 2015. In June 2021, Alves was promoted once again to Director of Athletics Communications, Multimedia & Broadcasting.

With the new title change, Alves' responsibilities also are different. He leads all athletics broadcast efforts that air on the Campbellsville University Sports Network - online and local TV - while also overseeing all marketing, social media, and athletic communications responsibilities for the entire athletic department.

In his seven years as the sports information director, Alves was named the Mid-South Conference SID of the Year twice (2016-17 and 2018-19).

Before the transition in June 2021, Alves served as the primary media contact for CU athletics and maintains the athletic website, CampbellsvilleTigers.com, and social media platforms – @CvilleTigers on Twitter and Instagram and Campbellsville Tigers on Facebook. Alves has built the CU social media platforms to being the most followed NAIA athletic department in the United States.

The CU Athletics social media engagements took a huge step forward starting in 2019-20 as Alves' team doubled the followers and reach on the main athletic accounts - Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. The athletics social media following is the second-most in the NAIA and the most in the United States behind British Columbia.

In addition to his role on campus, Alves is a member of the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and NAIA-SIDA. In the summer of 2019, Alves was elected to the NAIA-SIDA Executive Board where he leads the NAIA-SIDA Continuing Education Committee. He also is a member of the CoSIDA Programming Committee that plans the annual convention each summer.

In 2018-19, Alves helped transform the CU Sports Network. The digital network took a major leap towards investing the broadcasts that can reach living rooms world-wide. After only have the capabilities of a simple one-camera broadcast with basic graphics and an occasional broadcaster, the CU Sports Network will now feature five control rooms across the athletic facilities that are fully functional for multi-camera broadcasts, graphics and replay.

He also coordinates special video, radio and TV productions for the athletic department. In his seven years, Alves has served as host of  “Inside CU Sports” on 88.7 The Tiger FM and WLCU-TV while also hosting the Tiger Tailgate Show getting fans ready for kickoff on Saturdays. Alves is also a fill-in broadcaster on 88.7 The Tiger for Fighting Tiger football, Tiger and Lady Tiger basketball, while also broadcasting baseball and softball games on the Campbellsville University Sports Network each spring.

The CU sports information department earned 10 awards in Alves' first year as sports information director. Also in his first season as SID, Alves oversaw a website redesign of CampbellsvilleTigers.com in the summer of 2016. CampbellsvilleTigers.com saw its second redesign in the last four years after another launch in the summer of 2019.

After being the only full-time staff member in 2015, Alves has added two graduate assistants, a full-time assistant SID, full-time video coordinator and full-time photographer to the sports information department.

In addition to his role inside Athletics Communications and Multimedia, he is a member of the CU Booster Club, More Than A Game Committee, Big Maroon Club, Homecoming Committee and Campbellsvillian Board of Directors. Alves also serves as an adjunct professor in the human performance department.

From August 2014 to February 2015, Alves was the sports editor at the Greensburg Record-Herald in Greensburg, Ky. for seven months, covering two KHSAA State Championships, while working full-time in the CU athletic department.

Alves began his career at Campbellsville in 2009, playing on the Tiger baseball team. He played for two seasons and then took the role as student-assistant coach. His main duties were head JV coach, recruiting assistant, developed scouting reports, assisted with camps, and coached first base during games. He was a part of two Mid-South Conference (MSC) regular season championships (2010 and 2011) and went on to the NAIA World Series Opening Round playoffs his first three seasons with the team.

During his time working on the staff, Alves was very involved with game day operations. He led the grounds crew in 2011 and 2012 during the MSC tournament and also handled sideline work during the men’s and women’s 2012-2013 basketball season by working the game clock and scoreboard for CU games.

Alves graduated from Campbellsville in 2013 with an undergraduate degree in Sports Management and finished his Masters degree in Organizational Leadership in May 2015.
