Ryan Cheek

Ryan Cheek comes to Campbellsville with more than three years of coaching experience with the Indiana University of Kokomo (IUK). Over those years Cheek held many different titles: Assistant Baseball Coach, Academic Liaison, Community Service Leader, Strength and Conditioning Coach, and Recruiter.
 
At Vincennes University, Cheek pitched for the Trailblazers and earned his Associate Degree of Science in Sports Management. He was named Region XII MVP and the Trailblazers earned a NJCAA D2 World Series Appearance the same season (2014). After two years, Cheek went on to pitch for Indiana State University where he achieved his Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation and Sports Management (Marketing). Following his graduation, Cheek earned a spring training contract with the Evansville Otters. Cheek was released during spring training and then began his coaching career in earnest.
 
With two full seasons and one half of another as Assistant Baseball Coach, Cheek coached IUK to a 76-47 record with a 4.0 ERA and 1,038 strikeouts (averaging 10 strikeouts per nine innings). At IUK, Cheek earned the 2019-2020 IUK Baseball Community Service Award with over 50 hours of team service. In those two full seasons of coaching, Cheek saw IUK earn five All-Conference Pitchers and one Golden Glover.
 
Born and raised in Oblong, Illinois on a small cattle farm, Cheek grew up playing baseball, basketball, and golf through high school. Cheek loves the outdoors, working out, and spending time with his friends and family. When he’s not in the office or at the field, you can typically find him hanging out with his girlfriend Marli and their two dogs Roman and Basil.
