Coach Byron Kennedy enters his first season for the Tigers as the running backs coach. Kennedy returns to Campbellsville after playing for Fighting Tiger Football from 1996-2000. He was a member of the first conference championship in program history in 1997.
In his senior season, Kennedy was named First-Team All-Conference at the running back position. While at Campbellsville he earned a Bachelors of Science in Business & Marketing with a minor in Criminal Justice.Â
He began his coaching career in 2011 at Pleasure Ridge Park High School where he served as the running backs coach to former Fighting Tiger Jason Hiser. In 2014, he became the head coach of the Highview Mustangs which amounted to back-to-back LYFL Championships. From 2016-2018 he was the running backs and corner backs coach for Seneca High School. From 2018-2020 he was named the head coach at W.E.B. DuBois High School in which went to the state semi-final game.Â
In 2021-22, Kennedy came to the college level and coached at NCAA DII institution Concord University in West Virginia.Â
Byron is married to Kuluna "Masden" Kennedy and they have a son Kyran Kennedy. Â
