Mike Griffiths, a Greensburg, KY native, was hired as the Tigers Wide Receivers coach and Special Teams Coordinator in July 2021. 
 
Griffiths began his coaching journey as a student assistant under Legendary Coach Roy Kidd at Eastern Kentucky University from 1984-1988, and then as a graduate assistant coach (89-91). During his tenure at EKU, he learned much beyond the X’s and O’s and helped in many facets of the operation from recruiting, operations, and equipment. 
 
During his time at EKU, Griffiths earned a Bachelors of Science in Physical Education with a P-12 Teaching Certificate and a Masters of Science in Educational Administration. 
 
Griffiths then served as a Graduate Assistant for the University of Kentucky football program under Legendary Coach Bill Curry where he helped with Special Teams, Quarterbacks, and the Offensive Line.
 
In addition, Griffiths has more than twenty years of high school coaching experience and has served as the Head Coach of Pineville High School, Marion County High School, and Green County High School  football programs with an overall Head Coaching record of 142-45. During this time, he received District Coach of the Year honors four times, won 3 District Championships, 3 Regional Finalists, and 2 undefeated regular season teams. He also was the Head Coach of the Jefferson County East All- Star Team. 
 
Alongside his high school experience, Griffiths developed a little league football program in his hometown that was completely free to each athlete. This program has given hundreds of young people developmental opportunities in football since its inception in 1988. 
 
While acting as head coach for high school programs, Griffiths has also been a lifelong educator teaching physical education and health before becoming the Assistant High School Principal in 2002. In 2011, Griffiths then founded and served as the Principal of an Academy to accommodate learners from all walks of life with different educational needs and experiences. 
 
Griffiths currently resides in Greensburg, KY with his wife, Heather. They have one son, Kelson, and two daughters, Masden and Kennedy.
