Keri Coots returned to Campbellsville to start the 2016-17 year as the insurance clerk inside the athletic training department. In 2018-19, Coots' title changed again as an assistant athletic trainer. In addition to working with football, bowling, archery and bass fishing, her main duties will be heading up insurance for 700-plus student-athletes while also assisting with daily operations in the athletic training room.

Coots, originally from Lebanon, Ill., returns to CU after working as an assistant athletic trainer for three years (Aug. 2004 - May 2006). While at CU, Coots worked closely with the football, baseball and softball programs and was also the lead instructor in the Human Performance Department teaching various nutrition courses. 

Before her first stint at Campbellsville, Coots graduated from Depauw University with a BA in Health and Physical Performance. She then worked as the assistant athletic trainer at the J Robinson Intentive Wrestling Camps hosted at the University of Minnestoa.

After a brief stint in Minnesota, she then moved back home to pursue a Masters of Science in Therepeutic Kinesiology at the University of Illinois while working as a graduate assistant in the athletic training room. 

In August 2004, Coots came to Campbellsville for three years before leaving the field to raise her children. For the first year, she worked as the assistant manager at the Holiday Inn Express in Campbellsville.
