Entering his 10th season at the helm in 2025-26, Head Coach Brent Vernon has established a culture of consistent competitiveness, guiding the Campbellsville Tigers to multiple NAIA National Tournament appearances. Vernon’s tenure is highlighted by the 2018-19 season, in which he led a senior-laden team featuring three NAIA All-Americans to the program’s best overall win percentage (.688) of his career and a second consecutive trip to the national stage.

Vernon first piloted the Tigers to the NAIA National Championship in just his second season (2017-18), finishing with an impressive 24-11 record. This achievement was built upon the foundation he established as the program's recruiting coordinator from 2012 to 2016. In his role as an assistant coach, Vernon was instrumental in building the Tigers' roster, bringing in five NAIA All-Americans who would become the cornerstones of teams that won a Mid-South Conference regular season and tournament title and made a run to the NAIA Fab Four.

His impact at Campbellsville extends beyond the basketball court. While serving as an assistant, Vernon also took on the role of Head Women's Golf Coach. He showcased his exceptional recruiting and coaching abilities by bringing in state champion Cassidy Scantland, who became the most decorated golfer in program history. In their first season together, Vernon was named MSC Women's Golf Coach of the Year as Scantland secured both the conference championship and Freshman of the Year honors.

Before joining Campbellsville, Vernon was a student-athlete and assistant coach at the University of the Cumberlands. His deep ties to Campbellsville University include his wife, Jamie (Walker) Vernon, the daughter of former Tiger basketball player Roy Walker, and his brother, Mark, who serves as an assistant coach. He and Jamie have two children, Bryce and Jaylee.
