Darius Clement

Entering 2021-22: 7th year
Alma Mater: Campbellsville ('15)

Darius Clement was hired as the second assistant for head coach Brent Vernon's staff in the summer of 2016. Clement served as the graduate assistant in 2015-16 under coach Keith Adkins.

With Clement on the coaching staff, CU has gone 86-47 with three NAIA National Tournament appearances, including a trip to the Fab Four in his first season of 2015-16, and a 25-33 record in the Mid-South Conference with an appearance in the MSC Tournament Championship in 2017-18.

Clement came to Campbellsville in 2011 because his brother, Shawn Savage, was also a member of the men's basketball team and he was comfortable with the staff that recruited him.

Being a Bowling Green, Ky. native, the drive was short and just close enough to home for his dad and family to come to many, if not all games — home and away.

In his senior season, Clement helped lead his team to its second MSC regular season and tournament championship. He was also named the Mid-South Conference Champions of Character.

As a four-year varsity player his career stats included 724 total points, 232 assists and 231 rebounds. He averaged 79.2 percent on free throws and shot 36.3 percent from behind the 3-point line.

Responsibilities for Clement will include: scouting, recruiting, individual player workouts, skill development and being the head coach for the men's junior varsity basketball team,
