Eric Snyder

Entering 2021-22: 4th Year
Alma Mater: Southern New Hampshire

Eric Snyder joined the staff at Campbellsville in the summer of 2018 and led both the women's and men's volleyball programs to second place finishes in the Mid-South Conference regular season as well as a North Division Championship for the men's team. Starting in the spring semester of 2020, Snyder transitioned to the men's-only head coach as Rinata Aisena took over the women's program.

The 2021 season saw the Tiger men's volleyball team earn their first ever Mid-South Conference Championships in both the regular season and the MSC Tournament as they earned the program's first ever bid to the NAIA Championship. The team's 26 wins was the most in school history as they only lost three times in the regular season with one loss coming to an NCAA opponent on the road.

Campbellsville had seven All-MSC selections in outside hitter Rafael Cruz, middle blocker Ramon Matos, and libero Jay Montalvo all earned First Team selections with freshmen outside hitters Ho Yin Leung and Isaac Paches garnering Second Team honors, as setter Jeremy Hernandez and middle blocker Noah Henkel rounding out the honors with honorable mention selections.

Montalvo, Matos, Cruz, and Leung also earned NVA/AVCA All-American honors with Montalvo earned the NAIA All-American selection for the second-straight season as the Libero of the Year in the MSC.

In 2019, Snyder led the Lady Tigers to a 17-18 overall record. He coached the MSC Libero of the Year in Jaimie Thompson. Snyder was named NCCAA All Mid-East Region Coach of the Year, while coaching 5 NCCAA Mid-East Selections in Jaimie Thompson (First Team), Sonia Flendrich (First Team), Sophie Ball (First Team), Yelyzaveta Sharkova (Second Team), and Paige Merrick (Second Team).

Both teams also finished as MSC Tournament Runner-up as both teams finished with over 20 wins for their overall record as the women went 25-11 and the men went 22-9 during the 2018-19 seasons. Each program also had late-season double-digit winning streaks with the men winning 15 in a row from Feb. 12 to March 30 and the women winning 12-straight from Oct. 2 to Nov. 9.

Snyder helped mold 10 student-athletes to All Mid-South Conference selections as both the men's and women's teams had five All-Conference selections. One of those All-Conference selections on the men's side was libero Joudiel Poveymirow who also earned multiple Libero of the Year honors, in the Mid-South Conference and from Off the Block/Molten as the NAIA Libero of the Year.

During the 2020 season, Snyder led the men's team to an NCCAA National Championship along with carrying team to an overall record of 23-2, and the first No. 1 NAIA ranking in program history.

The success of the 2020 season led to Snyder earning Coach of the Year honors from the NAIA, U.S. Marine Corps & AVCA, and Mid-South Conference.

Before his time at CU, he led Warner University to a 17-3 record and won the conference regular season title after going 12-0. The Royals lost in the tournament finals to end their year.

Before his time at Warner, Snyder spent three seasons at Coker College. He led the Cobra men's volleyball program to two of their best seasons in program history. While under his direction, the program ranked as high as No. 23 in the NCAA DI/DII RPI poll.

In 2015-16 Coker finished the season ranked No. 1 in DI/DII with 2.05 aces per set. It was the first NCAA statistical championship in the program's history. During the 2016-17 season, Coach Snyder not only scheduled some of the toughest non-conference opponents (Penn State, Ohio State, Harvard, Princeton), he also created an IVA (Independent Volleyball Association) post season tournament to allow independent NCAA Division II men’s programs an opportunity to play for a post season championship.

Snyder was also the head coach at University of Mary in 2009 and Stonehill College during the 2007 and 2008 campaigns. While at Stonehill, he led the Skyhawks to a 21-11 record in 2008. It was the first time that program reached the 20-win mark since 1997. For his efforts, Snyder was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association's (AVCA) Thirty Under 30 Award List, an award that honors thirty of the up-and-coming coaches under 30 years of age in volleyball at all levels of the game.

Coach Eric also served as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Tiffin University, the University of Findlay and at Emmanuel College.
