CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Deja Thompson was selected as the Mid-South Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
 
This is the second time during the 2017-18 indoor track & field season that Thompson garnered the weekly honor and second accolade of her career.
 
Earlier this Thompson won the award on December 4 as she joined her teammate Ta'Neshya Allen in sweeping the weekly accolades.
 
At the UIndy Team Invitational, the senior recorded a pair of top 15 finishes to highlight her event. Thompson placed sixth out of 24 competitors in the weight throw after recording a mark of 14.02 meters.
 
Thompson also competed in the shot put, where her throw of 10.69 meters placed 12th out of 28 individuals.
 
Rounding out the women's track & field weekly honors is Lindsey Wilson College's Safia Bright who was named the MSC Track Athlete of the Week.
 
Campbellsville returns to action this weekend for the Mid-South Conference Championships on Friday and Saturday at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio.
