KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It's just fitting that Campbellsville University's Hagen Tyler finished his career by winning the 2019 NAIA-NABC Shoot and Slam 3-Point Competition.

At the 3-point competition on Saturday inside Municipal Auditorium, Tyler ran away with the title over Kevin Oberweiser of Jamestown, Devin Jackson of LSU Alexandria, and Brandon Shingles of West Virginia Tech.

The contest was similar to others seen around basketball with five racks of five balls around the arc to be shot within the 60-second time limit. The last ball in each rack counted as two for the "money ball".

There were two rounds, the first with all four competing then the finals where the top two totals from the first round will go head-to-head to see who can make the most shots.

Tyler finished with 21 of the 30 total points in the first round and was feeling it in round two scoring 24 to clinch a spot in the finals. After the first two rounds, Tyler finished with 45-of-60 total points.

In the first championship round, he finished with 19 points and 24 in the finals to seal the win over Shingles from WVU Tech.

Tyler capped his senior season by hitting 96-of-212 (45.3%) from deep as he finished the season with the third-best three-point shooting percentage in the Mid-South Conference. The senior from Danville, Ky. scored 1,951 points in his four-year career to place fourth all-time in Campbellsville history in points scored.
