GREENVILLE, S.C. – For the third-straight week, Campbellsville University's
Justin Warman received an NCCAA honor after winning the NCCAA National Championship last week.
Warman, a senior from Georgetown, Ky., entered the final day with a four-stroke lead over Alberto Avila from Erskine College and struggled out of the gates to make things interesting. After carding bogeys on holes No. 4, 6, and 7, Warman got on track with his first birdie of the day at the par-three eighth.
On the back nine, Warman held a two-stroke lead and had a pair of birdies and bogeys to start his first four holes. Then when it mattered the most, the senior finished Nos. 17 and 18 with birdies to claim the title.
The tournament win for Warman is his fifth in his career and the first individual national championship in program history. He finished with scores of 72, 68, and 72. It's also the 26th individual NCCAA Championship in school history for Campbellsville University.
That was the final competition for the Tiger golf program in the fall of the 2019-20 season as they will head into their winter break before the start of the spring season of 2020.
