CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — For the first time in her career, redshirt freshman
Savannah Gregory has been named the Mid-South Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, officials announced on Monday.
Gregory, a freshman from Scottsville, Ky., has started her collegiate career as well as Coach
Ginger Colvin could have wanted.
This past week, she led the Lady Tigers to a 3-0 week by averaging 12 points per game. She also added 11 rebounds, eight steals, and three assists during the week.
Gregory hit 4-of-7 from the 3-point arc and finished hitting 13-of-19 overall.
In the Lady Tigers first ranked matchup of the week, she put up 11 points and five rebounds in a 91-58 win over No. 25 Talladega College.
Gregory picked up a career-high five steals to go along with 12 points against No. 15 Central Methodist University on Saturday.
Her 2.33 steals per game is tied for sixth in the MSC.
Sixth-ranked Campbellsville is the lone undefeated team remaining in the Mid-South at 6-0.
The Lady Tigers hit the road after Thanksgiving for the Jackson Rotary Classic in Jackson, Tenn. CU will play No. 2 Montana State-Northern on Friday, Nov. 24 at 5 p.m. ET and a rematch of last years NAIA Quarterfinal vs. No. 3 Freed-Hardeman on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 5 p.m. ET.
Each game will be broadcast on the CU Sports Network, 88.7 The Tiger.
