South Bend, Indiana – The Campbellsville University Lady Tigers battled back from a twenty-four point deficit in the first half to force their fourth overtime game of the season today against IU South Bend. However, as has been the case in three previous overtime games this season, the extra period proved unkind to Campbellsville who lost 83-79.

 

Campbellsville trailed 40-16 with 3:40 remaining in the first half but cut the lead to 43-27 after an 11-3 run to end the first half.

South Bend spread the lead back out to twenty point margin, 50-30 with 17:11 left to play but Campbellsville chipped away at the lead and with 5:04 remaining Juliana Brown (Jr/Nashville, TN) pulled Campbellsville with in eight points, 66-58. From that point, the Lady Tigers went on an 8-1 run to pull within three, 69-66, with 1:02 remaining. Following a South Bend turnover, Priscila Alves (SR/Sao Paulo, Brazil) made a three pointer to tie the game at 69-69 with :25 seconds remaining. South Bend missed two free throws with :10 seconds on the clock and also missed a jump shot after a rebound and the game went into overtime tied at 69-69.
