Campbellsville University's Women's Soccer team has advanced into the Championship game of the Mid-South Conference Tournament after winning a shoot out with the University of the Cumberlands today in Columbia at Lindsey Wilson College.
Tied at 2-2 after two overtimes, the game went into Penalty Kicks where each team made three. From there the game moved into Sudden Death and Cumberlands missed their first kick while Campbellsville connected and won the game to move into the Championship.
With the win, Campbellsville advances into the Mid-South Conference Championship for the first time in program history. The 13 wins make the most in a season for a Lady Tiger Soccer team and the overall record of 13-5-2 is the best record in CU history.
The Lady Tigers will face the NAIA's #1 ranked team, Lindsey Wilson at 6 p.m. on Thursday in Columbia at Lindsey Wilson College.
