KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Campbellsville Tigers return to receiving votes in the final NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
Campbellsville comes off a top-ten upset over the University of the Cumberlands Patriots in the Mid-South Conference Tournament Championship. The unranked Tigers defeated the #10 Patriots in overtime, 2-1, to claim the tournament title.
Bethin Boyle put the Tigers on the board, helping Campbellsville lead for a majority of the match. A handball called in the box, leading to a penalty kick for Cumberlands, left the match tied with just under three minutes left. Fiona Jolly wasted no time in sending her sixth goal of the season through the net to break the tie and take home the title.
With their tournament victory, the Tigers received an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament. The opening round is scheduled to take place from November 20 to November 22.
The University of the Cumberlands jumped to ninth, leading the Mid-South Conference in the poll. Cumberland University fell to 16th, and Lindsey Wilson University fell to 19th.
