Lady Tiger Basketball Comes From 9 Down in Second Half To Beat Walsh 75-63

Campbellsville's Lady Tigers won their second game of the season tonight as they defeated Walsh University 75-63 in the Georgetown College Habitat for Humanity Classic in Georgetown, KY.
 
The Lady Tigers needed some second half heroics from sophomore Melly Heaton, who scored a game high 22 points, including four of her five three pointers in the second half to lead a Campbellsville comeback win.


Campbellsville led 23-11 with 7:11 to go in the first half before Walsh went on a 20-6 run to take a 31-29 halftime lead.   Walsh built the lead to 9 in the second half, leading 44-35 with 10:43 to go, before Campbellsville went on a run of their own12-2 run over the next two minutes, led by a four point play by Melly Heaton.  The Lady Tigers then wore down a scrappy Lady Cav's team to get the 12 point win.
 
Heaton led Campbellsville with 22 while Whitney Ballinger had her second consecutive double-double  with  15 points and 11 rebounds.  Courtney Danis had 12 points and Kristi Ensminger scored 10 points  and had 7 assists and 7 rebounds as four Lady Tigers reached double digit scoring.
 
Campbellsville plays tomorrow afternoon against Daemen College in the Georgetown Habitat Classic.
