Campbellsville defeated Robert Morris College 88-84 tonight in women's NAIA basketball at the Powell Athletic Center on the CU Campus.
The game was plagued with turnovers and fouls. The two teams combined for 72 turnovers (40 for Robert Morris and 32 for Campbellsvile) and 61 fouls (34 for Robert Morris and 27 for Campbellsville). A total of 72 free throws were shot in the game in which neither team led by more than seven points.
Campbellsville was paced by the 21 points of
Courtney Danis who hit key free throws late to seal the win.
Alexia Williams added 16 points while
Whitney Ballinger scored 13 and
Jarobia Hill had 11. Ballinger had 13 rebounds to lead the Lady Tigers, who outrebounded the Lady Eagles 44 to 36.
The Lady Tigers, now 1-1, will play Walsh on Friday at 6:00 p.m. in the Georgetown College Classic.
