Georgetown, KY - The Campbellsville University Tigers began defense of their Mid-South Conference Touranment Championship from a year ago with a 4-1 win over West Virginia Tech in the first round of the 2008 MSC Tourney this afternoon in Georgetown.

Campbellsville now advances into the 6:00 p.m. game tomorrow to face Georgetown.

Campbellsville  used a solo homerun by Hector Urbaneja to take an early 1-0 lead after one inning. They would tack three more runs on in the second to take control of the game, and Tiger starter Jeff Duda did the rest. The senior righty struck out twelve while allowing only two hits (both by Gabby Santiago) in earning the complete-game win.
